This mutual over-consideration might be why they’re a bit worn out.

They are interested in sexual activities but are hindered by a distrust of others, creating a dilemma. Finding a like-minded person with whom they can enjoy these activities without stress gives the story a gentle, heartwarming feel.

While some of the dialogue may feel slightly off, possibly due to the author’s limited proficiency in Japanese, the meaning is clear, and it doesn’t detract from the enjoyment.
